Silence

Image
Silence is one of the most powerful weapons one could come to wield. When things don't go as planned, or when you're being annoyed continuously, try to stay silent. Silence puts a stop to your overflowing emotions, be it anger, happiness, or sadness. You could see or hear people saying that venting out or lettibg out will make you feel better. But something in the opposite way has worked for me. Instead of letting out, try to stay silent and keep things to yourself, which could help you to start introspecting. Silence is the answer to most of our problems. For example, when something unpleasant occurs, immediate reaction could spark other reactions, which could be negative. Not only in situations like these, but application of silence in various other situations helps one a lot. Some people have this tendency to register their presence by interrupting whenever people around them are discussing. But staying silent and listening to what others speak is more valuable and helpful

My Problems with Reading

Image
Hi people! I love to read, and every time I get to know the title of a new book, an interest arises in me to go and check out the book. But unfortunately, my interest dies down the very instant I begin reading it. For quite sometime, I have been pondering over this one question: what is my problem? I have got some answers finally I guess. First thing is, I lack two important qualities, which are, focus and language. As far as focus is concerned, I start really well. But at some point, I catch to one point, and get lost into my imaginary world that it leads to and when I come back, I find it difficult to get my focus back. This may be a result of my lack of practice in reading and me getting myself lost too much with TV and mobile. I guess most of us face the same problem. To put the entire blame on mobile phone is a bit vague. To be more precise, it may be a result of losing ourselves too much to meaningless entertainment, which blunts our brain. While we are being entertained, we thin

To Wait is a Skill

Image
Hi people! Today, I am going to talk about a very important quality which most of us lack including me. Waiting! A really challenging task. Seriously, each and everyone finds it difficult to master this one skill in particular. Especially while we are working. When you start working towards anything in particular, you tend to lose patience and get into a hurry. But one thing we forget to notice is, the wait is actually leisurely. Once the wait is over, you feel really empty. Wait is actually something which gives you a purpose. If you are waiting for something, you really have a purpose and are not wasting your time. Waiting proves you to yourself. It is actually not a waiting period, but a preparation time. You prepare yourself to handle the situation for when the wait is over.  People in a hurry always fail to notice the important things. Whereas waiting teaches you perseverance and makes you strong to handle anything, come what may. It helps you to observe and learn. Besides, some

Today's Match

Image
Hello people! Y'all know, and for those who don't know, today's match was between CSK and DC. With regard to today's match, I was both disappointed and amused. To begin with the disappointment part, of course, I was disappointed that CSK faced their first defeat in the league. Especially, at moments like Rahane getting out at 45 and a point where Mukesh took back-to-back wickets, I became really down. I didn't get to watch the first few overs, but I heard that the first two wickets were lost for 1 run each. This was not CSK's day after all I guess. But to be honest, after the 4th wicket fell, I was eagerly waiting for Dhoni's arrival, but he arrived when the 6th wicket fell. At that point, I felt a little silly. I think this was the main point I am going to be discussing about. When Dhoni came, the whole stadiun was filled with cheers of hope. Especially when Khaleel missed his catch, hope was really high that 'Thala' was going to make use of this

Thoughts on 'Inglourious Basterds'

Image
Hi folks! Recently, I got to watch one of Tarantino's remarkable entries into his filmography, 'Inglourious Basterds'. I've heard quite a lot of rave reviews about the film from cinephiles, most of them being Tarantino fans. The film's one-liner itself hooked me to the film and incited interest in me to go check the movie out. The plot of the movie is this:  Lt. Aldo Raine, a black ops soldier along with his crew of Jewish-American soldiers sets out to kill Nazi soldiers and finally Hitler himself. On the other hand, a Jewish theatre owner, too, has plans to massacre Nazi Germans while they are attending the premiere of a German propaganda film. What happens next and did their plan work out or not forms the crux of the film.  Spoiler Alert! Now frankly speaking, I was a little disappointed with the film. It is a historical fiction, and what intrigues with historical fiction is, you cannot alter history, but still, manage to weave a fictitious tale without taking t

Trust

Image
Hello people! Is everyone around you trustable? Is everyone in this world acting only in your best interests? Well, quite not. We all know that we have adversaries in our life. If not, we haven't grown full mature. If you are growing and if there are people against you, then its an indication that you are developing.  It is not very difficult to tackle your adversaries. The problem is, identifying one. That is the harshness of this world. Both friends and adversaries look alike. It is quite difficult to identify who is your friend and who is not. If everyone around you seems to be good and kind-hearted, it could only mean two things: one, you are not upto the mark or two, you are not cautious enough. The best way to identify an adversary, is to identify hypocrisy. We ought not come to a conclusion of a certain person only with respect to how he/she is acting towards us, but from various other aspects. You may think that if this much scrutiny is needed for just interacting with a

A Great Bad Day

Today, we staged our play for the second time at SRM, the first being at Selaiyur Hall in MCC. From the start, we actually had a lot of problems. Firstly, the rehearsal began 20 minutes later than expected. Then, my phone got misplaced but luckily I found it back.  Many of us weren't able to get to the station on time. Some of them had to come by two-wheeler. But finally, we managed to reach the place on time. And, we actually put up a great show and received standing ovation. Not to flex, but we were told that we made MCC proud. After that, they had arranged dinner for us. But some of them couldn't stay back and had to leave. The rest of us stayed back and had our dinner. But unfortunately for us, just as we were opposite the station, the train left. We waited for half an hour, got our train and got home. It was pretty hard, but to be honest, it was a great experience. I got to learn a lot. It was really a personality enrichment for me. The time we had in the train, it was r
